About the 30th Anniversary Logo

Through the years, Kythe has been committed in providing psychosocial support to our child patients by making the hospital a friendlier and a happier place for them. Now that Kythe will be celebrating its 30th year, it still lives by the same core mission, only got better through the years that eventually led to the birth of the Kythe Child Life Services.

As we aim to continue this mission that started in 1992, we wish to magnify the main reason that ignited the hearts of our founders to build Kythe Foundation: Be the light that brings happiness to chronically ill children and their families.

As such was the inspiration of artist and volunteer leader, Ate Jem, in creating the 30th anniversary logo. Her 14 years of witnessing what Kythe truly does and its profound effects in the lives of our child patients, added by her fondest personal memories as a volunteer, helped her magnify this message through the logo.

Using the style of a child drawing for the overall look and feel shows the foundation of everything that Kythe does — understanding the situation and feeling of kids to know the best way to address their needs as they undergo treatment.

The number 30 depicted as a bright sun to show the light that Kythe Child Life Services to the child patients. It also sends a message of hope that Kythe will always be here for the kids – 30 years and beyond.

The rainbow shows Kythe as the bridge to happiness through the PETALS of the Kythe Child Life Services. It also looks like a jumping rope as a symbol of PLAY being the language of children.

The two people at both ends of the rainbow holding it like a jumping rope are the Kythe people (left) and a family member (right) to show that their connection and collaboration bring strength to the child patient who jumps in the middle.

Lastly, the cloud as the background that emphasizes the kite on Kythe’s logo as a constant drive for all of us that children should be flying kites, not fighting cancer. With this in heart, we constantly do our best no matter what.

As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, let us keep our hearts burning to help the child patients in our little ways, in all ways.
