IHOP will celebrate first National Pancake Day in Philippines, will donate proceeds to Kythe

Kythe IHOP National Pancake Day 2

As per global tradition of prominent family dining brand International House of Pancakes, LLC, National Pancake Day will be celebrated on March 3, and this time the flagship restaurants all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be joined by the Philippine branches in offering unlimited buttermilk pancakes to diners.

All proceeds from the promo—entitling each customer to unlimited pancakes per visit for PHP250—will be donated to Kythe Foundation, for the benefit of the Child Life Program. Guests will be granted the opportunity to donate and/or purchase advance tickets for the event either in the restaurants or through Kythe’s official website, www.kythe.org. Also available for purchase are Paper Icons priced PHP50, PHP150, and PHP200; the proceeds of these will fund Child Life needs.

As per official press release of DineEquity Inc. chairman and CEO and interim president of International House of Pancakes LLC Julia Stewart expresses her excitement at seeing National Pancake Day—which started in 1995, and has since raised $16 million all over the world for worthy causes—expand to Philippine branches: “It is heartwarming to think of the lives of the local children whose lives have been positively impacted by the funds we have raised one short stack at a time. We’re delighted that Global Restaurants has eagerly engaged this tradition and is introducing it to our guests in the Philippines.”

Archie Rodriguez, CEO of Global Restaurant Concepts Inc., the IHOP restaurant franchisee in the Philippines, thus agrees. “With every single IHOP restaurant in the Philippines participating in National Pancake Day, we know that we will be able to impact the Kythe Foundation’s incredible work in the most impactful way we can.”

In committing to the event alongside Archie Rodriguez and the Global Restaurant Concepts team, International DineEquity president Daniel del Olmo shares, “We are sure that they will make the first National Pancake Day one to remember for our guests, and most important, for the children who will benefit from the work of the Kythe Foundation in [the] country.”

Kythe Foundation kickstarted activities with IHOP last January 16, 2015 for the signing of the memorandum of agreement, where Kythe Board of Trustees president Atty. Arnel Jose S. Bañas thanked IHOP representatives Stewart, Rodriguez, del Olmo, Craig Hoffman, Chris Wren, Gary Moore, Manuel Zubiri, and Leah Amagsila. In his speech, he saluted the strength of the Kythe kids, among them cancer survivors Rudy and Aivy, also present at the event.

Kythe wishes for the enjoyment of all diners on National Pancake Day, and thanks IHOP for supporting the Child Life Program among its worthy causes.
