Girlie Garcia-Lorenzo invited to Asia Pacific Leaders Roundtable in Singapore for patient health

Girlie Lorenzo Asia Pacific Leaders Roundtable

Kythe Executive Director Girlie Garcia-Lorenzo also stands as the president for the Philippine Alliance of Patient Organizations, Inc. She was honored to be a participant in the Sanofi Partners in Patient Health (PiPH) Asia Pacific Patient Leaders Roundtable held last April 29–30 in Singapore, one of fifteen patient advocates from the Asia Pacific region who are also prominent leaders in their respective sectors.

In September of 2014, Kythe previously attended a PiPH Forum in Hong Kong where they were able to present a poster about the Child Life Program and psychosocial health in the Philippines; meet fellow professionals and health advocates; and discuss approaches on health programs and policy from different international perspectives.

The Roundtable’s focus for this year was “Uniting Patient Fronts in Asia,” where the brainstorming and sharing of participants covered the topics of the emergence of patient empowerment, uniting forces within the region, and finding ways to foster effective partnership. The guest speaker for the event was Rainbow Across Borders Executive Director Rajakanth Raman.

Kythe thanks once again Dr. Joel B. Lao, Medical Affairs Director, and Ms. Lyna T. Hernandez, Patient Advocacy Manager, of Sanofi-Aventis for the opportunity to return to PiPH for the award and enrich the Child Life advocacy.
